In South Australia, employees working from 19:00 to 24:00 on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve are paid double time-and-a-half for these hours, as if they were working on a public holiday.
Important: You cannot create Holidays records for these partial public holidays because Holidays are a full day. If you did create a Holidays record for a partial public holiday, employees would not be able to apply for leave for the earlier part of that day.
You can implement partial public holidays in Time & Attendance only. Payroll and Exolvo Self Service do not cater for partial public holidays.
If you want to implement partial public holidays in Time & Attendance, you need to use an award rule qualification clause that identifies a date without reference to the year. For example, day 24 and day 31 of month 12.
Important: You need to check your employment agreements and awards to see how rules for "public holiday not worked" should be applied. Employees may be entitled to payment for partial holidays even if they do not work those hours.
