After modules are allocated to the leave request entries, the entries are written to the EmplLeaveRequest table, which is the only table that PayGlobal uses for leave requests. PayGlobal is not aware of the leave requests until they are approved, split and written to the database.
A leave request might be paid over multiple pay periods. ESS must keep track of the paid portion of the request and the portion still to be paid. The employee’s leave balance decreases by the number of units paid for each leave request entry. This ensures that the employee’s Leave approved not paid value is correct.
ESS calculates two values for each approved leave request to keep track of the paid portion of the request.
Total units requested for the entire leave request.
Outstanding units to be paid for the leave request.
The Required units and Units outstanding values are displayed in ESS. The following image shows an employee’s approved leave request. The Units requested field shows the Required units.
