Superannuation Admin

The Superannuation Admin needs to be set up as a Workflow Role. Complete the following steps to set up the Superannuation Admin.

  1. Set up a Superannuation Admin Workflow Role (see Workflow Roles).
  2. Consider whether you need more than one Restricted Workflow Role (see Restricted Workflow Roles).

When you create a Superannuation Admin Workflow Role, ESS creates a Default Superannuation Admin Restricted Workflow Role.

If you need only one Superannuation Admin, then you can use the default role. However, you can set up multiple Restricted Workflow Roles, for example, so you can have a Superannuation Admin for each location the company is situated in.

  3. Appoint an employee to the Default Superannuation Admin Restricted Workflow Role (see Add Appointments). If you set up multiple Restricted Workflow Roles, then you need to assign an employee to each one.

Important: Employees (not WAPs) are assigned to Restricted Workflow Roles. The company must have a process in place to ensure that if the assigned employee leaves the company, then another employee is assigned to the Restricted Workflow Role.

  4. If you have created multiple Restricted Workflow Roles, then you will need to assign WAPs to each role (see Assign WAPs).

By default all WAPs are assigned to the default Restricted Workflow Role. If you are using the default Restricted Workflow Role only, then the WAPs are already assigned for you.

  5. Set up role permissions for the Superannuation Admin (see Role Permissions).

On the Menu tab, ensure that the Active Items checkbox is ticked.

On the Module Security tab, ensure that the ActiveItems checkbox is ticked.

  6. Update the Assign permissions to role activity in the Superannuation process flows to use the Superanuation Admin Workflow role (process is explained in Update Superannuation process flows).
