Create Performance Reviews

Watch the Performance Admin videos.

You must be connected to the internet. When you view a video, you can press Ctrl and use your mouse scroll wheel to resize the video. You should be able to see the controls at the bottom of the screen, which allow you to pause or rewind the video.

How to set up and generate performance reviews.

Performance review reports and monitoring.

Use this page to generate performance reviews for employees. You can use the Search for Employees lookups to search for the employees that you want to create performance reviews for.

Select the Review Group that you want to create performance reviews for. By default, ESS selects the last review group created.
Select search criteria in one lookup field, multiple fields, or no fields to return all employees.
Click Submit to search for employees.
Note: Searching by Cost centre returns results only if a Work Area Position (WAP) is attached to the Cost Centre record in PayGlobal — multiple WAPs can be attached to a Cost Centre.
To generate a performance review for an employee, click the generate icon for that employee.
To generate performance reviews for multiple employees:
1. Click the checkboxes for the required employees
  Alternatively, click the top checkbox to tick all of the checkboxes and then click the checkboxes for the employees that you do not want to generate performance reviews for.
2. Click Generate selected at the bottom of the page.
  If you are generating more than 25 performance reviews, then a progress bar is displayed.
After you generate a performance review for an employee, the generate icon and checkbox are no longer visible. The employees' managers are notified by email that the reviews have been created so they need to open and prepare the reviews before employees can begin. Managers can access the reviews by clicking the Performance Review "In Preparation" links on their homepage.

The following diagram shows the process that needs to be completed before an employee can start their performance review.

Can I generate multiple performance reviews at once for an employee?

No. When you generate an employee's performance review:

any incomplete goals (goals without an Actual complete date) in their most-recently completed performance review are copied across. So, if you generate another performance review before the employee completes their last one, any incomplete goals will not be copied across from their most recent performance review — goals will be copied from the last completed review.
KPIs may be copied from an employee's most recently completed performance review into their new review. KPIs are not copied by default, so you would need to check whether your company is using this functionality. If copying KPIs is enabled, and an employee does not have a completed performance review, then KPIs are copied from the employee's position (defined in Maintain KPIs).
