If configured correctly, the creation, update or deletion of a leave period in Self-Service can be integrated with Microsoft Exchange (Outlook) to show a corresponding appointment in your Outlook calendar.
When Outlook receives calendar appointments/updates or cancellations from Self-Service, you will need to accept the appointment (or appointment changes) before the appointment (or changes) appear in your calendar.
If you manually change= a Self-Service-generated appointment, no changes are communicated back to Self-Service. The leave process will continue, despite what you do to the Outlook appointment.
Notes:
If any of the configuration settings are not correct then no appointments will be created in your calendar
If you do not have an email address then no appointments will be created in your calendar
If, for any reason, an appointment is unable to be created/updated/deleted then you will receive no errors and the leave process will continue running in Self-Service.
Any changes to the MS Outlook calendar appointment will not be communicated to Self-Service. It doesn't matter if the Outlook appointment is deleted, it will not affect the Leave process.
