The following table explains the buttons and links on the Period Calendars Creation Tool form.
Button |
Details |
Generate Codes |
After all the sections are completed correctly, you can click Generate Codes to see the default Code and Description templates that the tool will use (see below). You can then edit these templates, if required. |
Find History |
Enabled when history details exist from a previously successful update. When you successfully create a calendar, all the settings used to create the period calendar are saved as an XML file in a PeriodCalendars folder in the company data directory. You can retrieve these details by clicking the Find History button. |
Roll Calendar |
Enabled after you click Find History and reload a previously successful update. Changing any loaded values will disable the Roll Calendar button. When you click Roll Calendar, the tool updates the Start date of first PTD to the day after the Last period end date in the previous update. |
Preview Only |
Enabled when the Code and Description fields are complete. Click Preview Only to produce an audit log of all proposed changes and any errors or warnings. |
Run Update |
Enabled after you generate a preview audit log that does not contain any errors (warnings do not disable the button). You can then click the Run Update button to make the required changes to the database. |
Cancel/Close |
Click Close to exit the Period Calendars Creation Tool. If you make changes in the form, this button becomes Cancel. Click Cancel to reset the form to its basic settings. |
