Opening a Manual Pay

The two types of pay are:

  1. Standard pays that you use for the majority of your payroll.

Further Reading: See the Standard Pay Processing manual.

  2. Manual pays that you use for infrequent circumstances, such as terminations, backpays, bonuses, or missed transactions. You can also use manual pays to reverse transactions that were entered incorrectly.

When you open a manual pay, Exolvo can create pre-set transactions, such as permanent transactions (see Standard Pay Processing manual). However, you would not normally include permanent transactions in a manual pay.

When you open any pay period, you force Exolvo to set the accumulators. When you open a manual pay, Exolvo automatically assigns accumulators for the most recently opened standard pay of the same period type. If you open a weekly standard pay, a monthly standard pay, and then a weekly manual pay, Exolvo will assign the manual pay the accumulators for the weekly standard pay, not for the monthly. However, these accumulators may not be appropriate because the manual pay period might not be the same as the most recent standard pay period.

Always ensure that manual pays are assigned to the correct accumulators and change the accumulators if necessary.
