Submitting the Employee Cessation form

When you click the Submit button, the following processes occur:

• ESS checks that all required data is entered correctly. If an element does not pass validation, then you cannot proceed. You are redirected to the element that did not pass validation, which is highlighted by an error message.
• A Cessation has been submitted message appears and the cessation details are displayed in a read only form.
• The cessation is automatically approved by default (unless an approval process has been set up in the cessation workflow).
• The cessation record is written to the PayGlobal database.
  • The employee's tours, shift overrides and timeband overrides are end dated when:

    - The start date is not in the future

    - The end date is empty

    - The frequency is not 0 (not applicable to tour).

    Note: Open rosters/actuals are not updated by default.

• When a planned termination = today's date, the active flag will be left set to "Yes". The next day, the active flag will be automatically changed to "No".

  When a planned termination date is in the future, the active flag will be left set to "Yes". When the planned termination date + 1 is reached, the active flag will be automatically changed to "No".

• Employee timesheet settings and leave request settings are end-dated when:
  • The start date is not in the future
  • The end date is empty.
• If an exit questionnaire was selected, then the exit questionnaire is attached to the employee's record in PayGlobal.
• The Cessation item appears on your Active Items - History tab.

Click the Cessation link to open the Cessation Details form.

Important: ESS does not complete the employee’s termination date. The termination date is filled when the payroll clerk enters the termination transaction.
