Employee ratings are assigned values. In this example, A = 5; B = 3; C = 1.
Using the Employee ratings here

Total = 13 divided by 3 (number of ratings) = 4.33

Overall
The overall score is an average of the KPIs and Behaviours scores.
Using the scores shown in the image above, 3.45 + 4.33 = 7.78.
