You have the following options to select information in a lookup field.
The auto-complete list appears. When you start typing in a lookup field, the items are filtered by the value you type using the "has word that starts with" clause on the code and description of the items.
For example, the following lookup list is reduced from 12 items to 5 items when you type "ch".
Use the arrow keys to move to the required option in the filtered list and then press Enter to select it.


Important: If you want to view the whole list, then you must clear the text in the field to remove the filtering.
Note: If the lookup already has a value selected, then you must delete that value or the lookup list will be blank (because it is filtered).
The list automatically displays a maximum of 15 items. The status row at the bottom of the list shows the number of items available. Click the status row to see more items.
If the total number of items is greater than 100, then you may not be able to see all of the items. In this situation you start typing in the text field to search for the item.
When you select an item from the list, the record description is displayed below the field.
