Leave Approval Settings

You need to create a new Leave Approval Settings record. This is required because:

  1. Leave Approval Settings records cannot be changed once they have been used by an employee.
  2. You need to specify what needs to happen when a leave request is changed or or changed.

    NOTE: Leave timebands are automatically deleted when a Leave Request is either edited or deleted from ESS. See .Deleting Leave for more details

To create a new Leave Approval Settings record:

  1. Go to Payroll | Leave Setup | Leave Approval Settings
  2. Right click on the grid and select Add Record
  3. In the Write leave requests to field select Open Roster / Actuals Period

    The fields Roster timebands to restore on delete and Actual timebands to restore on delete will be displayed.

  4. Select the appropriate option for each field

    You can choose None or Derived Roster.

  5. Click Save and Close.

    IMPORTANT: For employees that use clocks, please ensure select None in the Actual timebands to restore on delete field. If select Derived Roster the this setting will be ignored.

Note: If employees have permission to edit/delete approved leave in ESS, it is strongly recommended that Roster to restore on delete be set to "Derived roster". To avoid loosing any timebands on the day.
