Appendix - Troubleshooting Guide

Overview

This guide could be helpful in identifying the cause of STP errors and unexpected behaviours when setting up and submitting pay event data to the Australian Tax Office (ATO) from within the PayGlobal application.

This guide is meant to be read in association with the Single Touch Payroll manual as it will only give brief description of the processes in play when an unexpected behaviour occurs.

General points to note

If an error or unexpected behaviour occurs, search this guide for pointers as to the cause and resolution.

Often the latest errorlogyyyy_mm.txt error log in the company log folder will provide more information. If this doesn't help and further support/information is needed, one can temporarily raise the logging level from its default value of "INFO" to "DEBUG" in the log.config file located in the PayGlobal application folder. Note that this may produce more logging, thus affect performance if left at "DEBUG" permanently.
