ESS requests can only be assigned to users who have an employee record. However, some companies need to have requests approved by users who do not work for their company.
For example, a labour hire company hires their employees to another company (Company X). When employees complete their timesheet, they enter a job code that identifies the company that they worked for. When an employee has worked for Company X, the approval request is assigned to a representative from Company X. The person who received the approval request must have an employee record so they can log on to ESS to action the request.
The procedures in this section explain how to set up "non-paying" (virtual) employees in PayGlobal so they can log on to ESS, but have no impact on reporting (legislative or compliance), Transaction View, Daily View or general processes in PayGlobal.
Note: Virtual employees who have access to Self Service will also have access to the ESS home page and any content published there.
